The second and tallest building at 1 Java Street has officially reached its 37-story apex, marking a significant milestone for the project.

Spanning a 2.6-acre site along the East River waterfront in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, the development is reshaping the skyline with its bold architectural presence. The original two Wolffkran WOLFF 355 tower cranes were essential to the progress, with one now dismantled after the completion of the 20-story tower, while the remaining crane continues to play a crucial role in the construction of the taller tower.

Designed by Marvel Architects, the development will feature 834 rental apartments, with 30 percent designated as affordable, along with 13,000 square feet of commercial space. Additionally, the project will include an 18,000-square-foot waterfront park and esplanade, connecting to the India Street Pier and enhancing the public space along the East River.

With RNC Industries as the shell contractor and Lendlease overseeing the project as general contractor, the development is steadily moving toward completion in 2026. As New York State’s largest residential geothermal building, 1 Java Street sets a new benchmark in sustainable and equitable urban development.
